Realization of the present can reduce your stress
I used to consider myself quite keen in stress management but that was before I came face to face with it myself. An idea came up when I turned to meditation as the last resource to help reduce my own stress. I found out that it is the realization of the present that can reduce your stress. Most of the stresses that people felt are normally caused by their worrying about the past and the future. In the traffic, people are stressed because they are worried of what would happen if they did not get to their destinations in time.
How , then, can we remain in our presentness ?
1. Tell yourself that you are in the present and what you are doing like 'I am holding a pen'. Do it as many times a day that you like to but not so continuously that it interferes with your work. 2. Train your body to be relaxed like stop what ever you are doing and take a long breath once in a while. A book called "Wherever you go there you are" by Dr. John Cabudsin is a good example of a school of thought that emphasis on presentness. It suggests ways of caring for patients who got physically sick because of their mental problems.
